SCAFFOLDING WORKS

The Scaffolding is a temporary stricture, which is used in building operations to support platforms for workmen, structural material and appliances required during construction at raised heights (normally more than 1.5m). This temporary framework (or scaffolding) is useful in building construction, demolition, maintenance and repair works. Scaffolding is erected either on one or both sides of the walls. For ordinary works, scaffolding may be on one side only but for all superior quality works, it may be provided on both the sides of the wall. The height of the scaffolding can be adjusted with the progress of the work.

Scaffolding can contain 1 ton load for each frame. According to the height Scaffoldings can separate under three main parts.

  1. Full Scaffolding - 1700 mm
  2. Half Scaffolding – 915 mm
  3. Quarter Scaffolding – 490 mm
Components used:
  1. Clamps - Clamps are used to brace the G.I pipes with Scaffolding or other G.I. Pipe. A Clamp can contain 0.5 ton load. There are two types of clamps called Fixed Clamps and Free Clamps.
  2. T – Jack & U – Jack - Mainly this is helpful for rise or lowers the load slowly. Therefore its adjustable property is used for positioned the shutter in required elevation & leveled it. It is mainly used for resting for the loads & provides side supports to the formwork. Function of this same as to T jack. But it is very helpful to rest planks & such other similar things which can’t rest by using T jacks. Especially in slabs, & beams it is used to support timber runners. (6”x 4”, 4”x 4”) In column formwork it is used to side supports. The T jack & U Jack can contain 1 ton load.
  3. GI Pipe - These are widely used for strengthen the formwork. They are provided at beam bottoms, beam     sideways slab bottoms & column faces. When placing these at correct spaces it prevents.
  4. Catwalk panel - Catwalk panel is used as the working platform on the Scaffoldings. It also can contain 0.5 ton load.
  5. Joint pin - Joint pin is used to connect the Scaffoldings each other.
